Social Skills Groups

At All Points ABA, our social skills groups are lead, and supported by our Registered Behavior Technicians and overseen by a Board-Certified Behavior Analysts. If you are not currently a client at All Points, an assessment of your child’s current social, group, and behavior skills will be conducted prior to enrollment. This assessment will allow the team to identify child-specific goals and objectives that will be targeted within the group and assist with determination of group placement. In addition, the assessment will indicate if 1:1 social skills instruction may be a beneficial supplement to group instruction. Following the assessment, a recommendation regarding the appropriateness of participating in the group and/or 1:1 instruction will be provided. Each group follows a schedule consisting of – free group play, explicit social skills instruction using a behavior skills training model, adult facilitated play to practice social interactions, and a theme related activity. Progress is monitored using various data collection systems to ensure skills acquisition within structured teaching opportunities and importantly, during non-structure naturally occurring social interactions. Parents and learners may occasionally be given “homework” tasks to discuss or practice the target social skills in between sessions.
